Lexi ("the app") is an English vocabulary reading app. This policy explains exactly what data stays on your device, what leaves it, and why.
Your learning progress, review schedule, favorites, notes, saved sentences and all app settings are stored locally on your device, in an on-device database. The word and sentence library ships inside the app, so ordinary reading and review work with no network connection at all.
Two optional features send data to our server so that it can call an AI provider on your behalf. They only run when you use those features:
These requests are processed to generate the text you asked for and are not used to build a profile of you, and not sold or shared for advertising.
To attach a usage quota to a device and prevent abuse of the AI features, the app creates an anonymous session with our backend provider (Supabase) the first time such a feature is used. This session is not an account: there is no sign-up, no email, no password, and nothing that identifies you personally. It is a random identifier held on your device.
If you buy Lexi Pro, purchases are handled by Apple and validated through RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives a purchase identifier and basic device and app information needed to verify your entitlement. We never receive or store your payment details — Apple handles payment.
The app contains no advertising SDKs and no ad or cross-app tracking. We do not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), and the app does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission.
The app uses your device's built-in text-to-speech to read words and sentences aloud, and the standard share sheet if you choose to share a sentence. These run on your device and are initiated by you.
Everything stored locally is removed when you delete the app. To have the anonymous session and any associated quota records on our server deleted, email us at the address below.
The app is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Supabase (backend and anonymous session), DeepSeek (AI text generation), Apple and RevenueCat (purchases).
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
